Good morning, and welcome to my daily Panamax Post column on a pleasant but cooler London morning than of late. With a high of 21C and an 8mph WNW breeze we are set fair.

Further West, in the Atlantic and heading for the Caribs, Hurricane Beryl is now the strongest and the earliest category 4 hurricane on record. We wish our seafarer’s safe passage and safe harbour.
